Somerset gears up for 2012 School Games....

Somerset's four School Games Organisers (SGO's) commenced their work at the beginning of October last year and plans are in place for a Level 3 County Event spanning 3 days. This will take place at the athletics track at Millfield School in Street on 6, 7 & 8 July 2012. QuadKids events are scheduled for the first two days with a Super6 event taking place on the third day.

Somerset has opted to use the QuadKids and Super6 competition formats for all its primary and secondary school events this year at Levels 1 (intra-school), 2 (inter-school) & 3 (inter-county). In order to make inter-school competitions easier it is envisaged that many QuadKids events will take place "virtually", which will avoid the need for schools to arrange venues and organise transport.

Meanwhile, a series of training events will take place during February and more information on this and the competitions will follow direct from the SGO's.
