Good weather for Wiltshire AA County Champs - surely not!

For a long time, the weather shone on Tidworth for the Wiltshire AA County Championships. As part of the day, the association run a U11 QuadKids competition.

Competition was fierce with all the young athletes enjoying the day at a great track with a good crowd.

Titanic QK competition creates worthy Haringey representatives for London School Games Final

The London Borough of Haringey hosted a superb inter school QuadKids tournament to decide which school would represent Haringey at the London Tier 3 School Games Final at Crystal Palace on June 28th.

Haringey School Games Organiser Dave Thomas was the man expertly pulling the athletic strings on the day and he said;

"It was an excellent QuadKids Athletics match at White Hart Lane Track on Friday 4th May. The conditions were cold and grey, not ideal for sprinting, running, jumping and throwing but everyone performed brilliantly and we had a very exciting competition with the result being in the balance until the final relays. Coleridge just prevailed over pre-match favourites Rhodes Avenue and will now represent Haringey in level 3 of the School Games at Crystal Palace on 28th June.

The Young Leaders from Alexandra Park School were magnificent. They had received QuadKids events training during the previous week and were terrific ambassadors for their school and for Haringey School Sport. They managed the athletes well and judged all four events very well. Huge thanks to them and to Brendan Amooty who co-ordinated the competition"

Crypt House Competition

Crypt school organised a Quadkid event for all students in year 7 and 8 not involved in cricket. The weather made all events difficult to achieve high standards but the commitment from the boys was excellent. These results will be updated through the year to see if they can improve.

Brown house was the overall winner so well done.

Yeovil Games Association to run QuadKids event...

At a recent meeting of the Yeovil Games Association it was agreed to run a QuadKids event for years 1 - 6 for all the Primary Schools in South Somerset. This will take place on Monday 2nd July at the Yeovil Athletics Arena. The event will form part of the celebrations to mark the Olympics taking place later in the year.

NOTAN Quadkids gets off to a good start

The first of a planned 6 NOTAN Grad Prix took place on the 28th April 2012 at the Churchill Playing Fields and overall the events was a great success. The numbers on last year were up and even the weather stayed good.

“Great venue. A few more kids would help make it more competitive. Really good fun and easy going, well timed between events, friendly staff. It has been a great day and all of the events were so much fun.”

Big rain but bigger performances at LICC QuadKids hosted by Highgate Harriers

Nearly sixty hardy young athletes braved the poor weather to descend on the Parliament Hill running track for another pre-LICC QuadKids.

Hosted by Highgate Harriers, it was nice to see other clubs represented, in particular S Factor from South London who turned up in force with a very plush gazebo!

Despite the conditions there were many smiles and great performances, with credit going to the many officials and helpers who got up extra early, donned waterproofs and held stopwatches, raked and measured.
